Slowing Down: Breaking the Cycle of Constant Momentum
How has your week been? Have you found time to pause, or has it been another whirlwind of movement—physically, mentally, emotionally?
Lately, I’ve noticed something interesting. Whether in daily life or the classes I’ve been covering (not you lovely Vesta movers, of course!), there’s a theme: we are always rushing. Rushing to appointments, rushing through tasks, and even in movement practices, hurrying to reach the peak pose rather than experiencing the journey.
But here’s the thing—this rushing isn’t always about getting to a physical place. It’s ingrained in us now, a momentum we don’t even question. We’ve been moving at high speed for so long that slowing down feels unfamiliar, even uncomfortable.
For many of us, rushing has become second nature. Perhaps it’s modern life, filled with endless to-do lists, deadlines, and responsibilities. Maybe it’s the pressure to be productive, to keep up, to achieve. Or maybe we just don’t realize we’re doing it. But when we move through life at full speed, we miss so much—the connection to ourselves, to others, to the present moment.
I see it in movement classes all the time. Students eager to reach the “goal” of a pose, moving faster than suggested, missing the subtleties of breath, muscle engagement, and the deep mind-body connection. But what if the real magic isn’t in getting there—but in being here?
A Simple Invitation to Pause
Slowing down doesn’t mean stopping. It doesn’t mean doing less. It simply means being present with what you’re already doing. It can be as simple as:
🌿 Taking your tea or coffee outside and really listening—to the birds, the wind, the sounds around you.
🌿 Walking at a comfortable pace, rather than rushing, and noticing the feeling of your feet on the ground.
🌿 Taking three deep breaths before moving onto the next task.
🌿 Eating a meal without distractions—no phone, no screens, just you and your food.
🌿 Placing a hand on your heart and simply noticing how you feel in this moment.
None of these require extra time—just a shift in awareness.

Raynaud’s & How Reflexology Can Help!
🖐️ Raynaud’s & How Reflexology Can Help! ❄️
Do your fingers or toes change colour in the cold? Feel numb and tingly? Or experience pain when warming up? You might be dealing with Raynaud’s Disease, a condition that affects circulation. With February being Raynaud’s Awareness Month I have created the post below to show how Reflexology can help.
✨ Common Symptoms of Raynaud’s:
1️⃣ Colour Changes – Fingers or toes turn white, blue, or red due to poor blood flow.
2️⃣ Cold & Numb Sensation – Affected areas feel icy, numb, or stiff, even in mild temperatures.
3️⃣ Pins & Needles or Pain – As blood flow returns, you may feel a burning, tingling, or throbbing pain.
🦶 How Reflexology Can Support Raynaud’s Sufferers:
✔️ Boosts Circulation – Gentle foot and hand reflexology stimulates blood flow, helping prevent attacks.
✔️ Reduces Stress – Stress is a major trigger for Raynaud’s, and reflexology promotes deep relaxation.
✔️ Supports Nerve Function – Reflexology may help reduce nerve sensitivity, easing discomfort.
Whether you suffer from Raynaud’s or just want to improve circulation, reflexology is a gentle, holistic way to support your body. Give your hands and feet some love today! 💙
