Grounding…after burnout

At the end of 2024, I made a promise to myself to take the beginning of the year to bring calm to myself and my business. A kind of New Year’s resolution (but totally telling myself it wasn’t).

The past few weeks have been incredibly busy! I overcommitted, overpromised, and was overambitious. Sound familiar?

Did I succeed? Well, I did take some steps, but then I overcommitted again and took on too many tasks. I’m sure you can relate to that!

The result was mild burnout. I realised pretty quickly that things weren’t going as well as they should have been, and it could have been much worse. It was still challenging, and I had to make difficult decisions that felt like I was letting people down or failing.

In my efforts to reconnect with my yoga roots, I stumbled upon meditation. I was skeptical at first because I had done meditation before and I usually fall asleep during it. But this time, it worked. It was as if the right time, the right approach, or other work I had done to get me to this point clicked.

Another addition to my grounding routine is journaling. I’ll be honest, I’m not as enthusiastic about it, but it does work—even if it’s just to clear my mind.

Now, my daily grounding goals are:

⭐️ Meditation

⭐️ Movement

⭐️ Journaling

These are simple, non-intense practices.

I’d love to hear about any grounding practices you use 🧡
